School Course Description
Kindergarten
The kindergarten classroom stimulates children’s curiosity to learn more about the world around them. It’s the job of the teacher to help children become comfortable working in a classroom setting and to introduce some basic literacy and math-related skills.
Our Kindergarten classroom and curriculum focuses on helping each child develop socially, physically, and academically. Social skills are taught and practiced. Students learn through hands-on learning. They are also guided in establishing important habits and attitudes that will benefit them in their future years in school and for the rest of their lives. Our students learn interpersonal skills through play time, centers, and classroom activities.
QAS Elementary School Curriculum
The elementary curriculum focuses on guiding young students as they gain confidence and agility in reading, writing, mathematics, Social studies, Science and French or German. Students develop the foundational skills for critical thinking and listening, comprehension, research, and creative exploration
QAS has identified curriculum goals considered essential to the learning process of its students. The goals are set in order to acquire a range of thinking skills, alongside comprehension, interpretation, extrapolation and synthesis.
QAS Middle School Curriculum
Middle School is a transition time between Elementary School and High School. Our focus is on deep learning, critical thinking, and growing independence.
The Middle School believes it is essential for students to see connections and relationships alongside the acquisition of important basic skills. Goals include teaching students to think critically and make connections. The aim is for students to become confident performers, presenters, and public speakers who work cooperatively and collaboratively. Students are taught to acknowledge their peers’ points of view and respond in an open-minded manner.
QAS draws from the best practices of American schools, as well as US Common Core State Standards, to offer a quality American Academic Program.
QAS High School Curriculum
The Course Description Guide (CDG) helps each student plan a high school program that meets their individual interests, abilities, needs and goals for further education. The CDG describes all of the courses the high school intends to offer in the following academic year.
